Adeleke, Oyebamiji Clash Over PVC Buying Allegations

Ademola Adeleke, the Governor of Osun State, and Bola Oyebamiji, the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate, have exchanged serious allegations concerning the buying of Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs) in the lead-up to the governorship election scheduled for August 15. Adeleke accused APC members of attempting to purchase PVCs and collect personal identification numbers from unsuspecting voters, undermining the credibility of the electoral process.

He claimed that this operation was particularly targeted at stronghold areas to manipulate voter registration details. Adeleke called on the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to investigate these allegations.

In response, Oyebamiji warned residents against exchanging their PVCs for money, stating that such actions could indirectly finance electoral inducements. He urged eligible voters to safeguard their PVCs and resist any offers that could influence their participation in the election.

Both candidates are vying for the governorship position, with Adeleke seeking a second term.
