Adeleke Declares PVC Collection Day in Osun State

Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke has announced that Tuesday, July 28, 2026, will be a work-free day for public servants to facilitate the collection of their Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs) in preparation for the upcoming governorship election. This directive, communicated through a circular from the Head of Service, Elder Ayanleye Aina, encompasses all public servants, including local government employees and staff from tertiary institutions.

The governor's spokesperson, Olawale Rasheed, stated that the initiative aims to enable public servants to fulfill their civic duties ahead of the election. Essential workers, such as medical and security personnel, are advised to coordinate among themselves to mitigate any public service disruptions.

Adeleke urged all registered voters to collect their PVCs promptly, emphasizing the significance of voting. The governorship election is set for August 15, 2026, with Adeleke of the Accord Party seeking re-election against candidates from the All Progressives Congress and African Democratic Congress.

The Independent National Electoral Commission has approved 14 political parties for participation.
