INEC Reports 1.9m PVCs Collected for Osun Election

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) announced that 1,906,390 Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs) have been collected in Osun State in preparation for the governorship election scheduled for Saturday, 15th August 2026. This figure represents 81.50% of the total registered voters in the state, which stands at 2,339,233.

The remaining 426,842 PVCs, accounting for 18.50%, are deposited with the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) as per established practice. INEC also mentioned that 6,101 voters who requested replacements for damaged, defaced, or lost PVCs were able to print downloadable copies of their cards.

A table detailing PVCs collected by Polling Unit has been published on INEC's website for public access. Mohammed Kudu Haruna, the National Commissioner and Chairman of the Information and Voter Education Committee, reassured political parties, civil society organizations, the media, and residents of Osun State of INEC's readiness to conduct a credible election.
