Osun PRP Candidate Saliu Orisunlagba Promises Better Governance

Saliu Orisunlagba, the governorship candidate for the People's Redemption Party (PRP) in the upcoming Osun State election, expressed confidence in his ability to outperform the current governor, Ademola Adeleke. Speaking to journalists in Osogbo on Friday, Orisunlagba acknowledged improvements made by Adeleke but declared his commitment to better governance.

He emphasized prioritizing youth and women empowerment, education, and security in his administration. Orisunlagba, a medical doctor turned politician, highlighted the need for change in Osun's leadership, stating that the current administration has not performed poorly but that he can do better.

He aims to transform Osun into a leading state in Nigeria, focusing on educational excellence and addressing insecurity, particularly in relation to neighboring Kwara State. He also noted the importance of empowering market women to combat unemployment.

The Osun State governorship election is set for August 15, with 14 political parties fielding candidates, including Bola Oyebamiji from the Progress Congress and Dr. Najeem Salaam from the African Democratic Congress.
