Adeleke Calls for Visa Ban on Opposition Leaders in Osun

Ademola Adeleke, the Governor of Osun State, has requested the imposition of a visa ban on opposition leaders whom he accuses of aiding and abetting political violence in the state ahead of the upcoming governorship election on August 15. This call was made during a meeting with a delegation from the British government, aimed at promoting peace in the electoral process.

Adeleke's statement, signed by his spokesperson Olawal Rashe, alleges that certain politicians are instigating violence and supporting attacks that have resulted in fatalities, including the killing of party members in Ijebu Jesa. He urged security agencies to investigate and prosecute those responsible for these violent acts, regardless of their political affiliations.

The governor emphasized a zero-tolerance policy towards violence and stated that no thugs would be tolerated in the state. He also called for international sanctions against politicians who promote violence for political gain, asserting that Osun deserves peace and freedom of choice in governance.
