Abia State Urges Tricycle Operators to Drive Safely

On Monday, during a seminar for tricycle operators in Aba, Abia State, Dr. Chimezi Ukaegbu, the state Commissioner for Transport, urged participants to strictly adhere to traffic regulations and embrace safe driving practices.

The seminar, organized by the Abia State Tricycle Operators Union, aimed to ensure the safety and security of the state's roads. Ukaegbu represented the Abia State Government and was supported by Prof.

Obioma Reuben Nwogb, who encouraged participants to acquire life-saving knowledge to improve their professional competence. The seminar covered various topics, including defensive driving, safety awareness, tricycle maintenance, and financial management.

CSP Okerek Amo of the Abayi Division of the state police welcomed the initiative, highlighting its importance in tackling insecurity. Frank Nwaohamuo from the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency stressed the need for tricycle operators to live drug-free lives to help reduce road crashes.

Governor Alex Otti's administration was commended for its efforts to improve road safety across the state.
