AEDC Announces Two-Week Power Interruptions in Abuja

The Abuja Electricity Distribution Company (AEDC) issued a public notice on September 3, 2026, informing residents of temporary power interruptions in several areas of Abuja due to network rehabilitation works. The affected locations include numerous streets and significant government offices in Maitama and surrounding districts, such as Usuma Street, Gana Street, and the Russian and Japanese Embassies.

The rehabilitation is set to last for two weeks, concluding on September 22, 2026. AEDC stated that these interruptions are necessary to enhance network reliability and capacity, ultimately leading to a more stable electricity supply for customers.

The company apologized for the inconvenience and encouraged residents and businesses to reach out with inquiries at 08039070070. This announcement follows a previous fault reported on September 1, 2026, which had already disrupted electricity supply across Abuja.
