AEDC Starts Repairs at Maitama Substation After Crisis

Abuja Electricity Distribution Company PLC (AEDC) has initiated repair work at the C2 Maitama substation following the resolution of a crisis caused by encroachment on the facility. The company announced on Tuesday that its technical team has been deployed to the site to begin repairs and restore the damaged electrical infrastructure.

The outage had significantly affected power supply to homes, businesses, diplomatic missions, and government institutions in the Maitama area. AEDC acknowledged the support of key stakeholders, including Nyesom Wike, the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, and Joseph Tegbe, the Minister of Power, for their swift intervention in resolving the dispute.

The company expressed its commitment to completing the repair work safely and restoring power supply to customers as quickly as possible. AEDC also thanked residents for their patience during the outage and reaffirmed its dedication to protecting critical electrical infrastructure.
