NHIA Repairs Over 5000 Women With VVF in 18 Months, Boosting Healthcare Access

The National Health Insurance Authority (NHIA) in Nigeria has reported repairing over 5000 women suffering from Vesicovaginal Fistula (VVF) within 18 months. Dr.

Bethuel Kasimu Abraham, the NHIA state coordinator in Ikeja, shared this achievement during a stakeholder forum. The NHIA's program offers treatment for VVF through the "Fistula Free" initiative, which is part of the federal government project to provide compulsory healthcare access to all Nigerians regardless of their social class.

The NHIA's stakeholder forum aims to improve services by interacting with the public and offering different premium options based on individual choices. The program emphasizes building trust with the community to ensure better healthcare services.
