Jumok Akinjide Resigns from PDP After 24 Years

Jumok Akinjide, who served as the Minister of State for the Federal Capital Territory under former President Goodluck Jonathan, has officially resigned from the People's Democratic Party (PDP) after a lengthy association of 24 years. Akinjide conveyed her decision in a resignation letter dated March 30, 2026, stating that the move would take immediate effect.

In her letter, she expressed gratitude to the PDP for the opportunities it provided throughout her political career, acknowledging the platform that enabled her participation in public service and political engagement. Akinjide noted that leaving the party was not an easy decision due to her long-standing association with it.
