APC Targets 2.5 Million Votes for Tinubu in 2027

The Edo State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) expressed confidence in delivering 2.5 million votes for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in the 2027 presidential election after a successful local government election held on Saturday. The party secured a total of 2,158,600 votes, winning 18 chairmanship and 192 councillorship positions.

APC Chairman Jarrett Tenebe addressed journalists in Benin City, describing the election outcome as historic and a reflection of the people's trust in the administration of Governor Godwin Obaseki. Despite opposition challenges, Tenebe reaffirmed the party's commitment to the democratic process.

The Edo State Independent Electoral Commission (EDSIEC) presented certificates to the newly elected local government chairmen, with EDSIEC Chairman Jonathan Aifubakhian commending the conduct of the elections. Eribo, who received the certificate, called for sustained support for APC and massive votes for Tinubu in the upcoming presidential election.
