Okonkwo Warns of Identity Crisis After Working with Obi

Kenneth Okonkwo, the spokesperson for the African Democratic Congress (ADC) presidential candidate Atiku Abubakar, commented on the potential consequences of working with Peter Obi, the presidential candidate of the Labour Party (LP). During an interview on Arise TV’s Daybreak, Okonkwo suggested that Yusuf Datti Baba-Ahmed, the former vice-presidential candidate for the LP, might be experiencing a "post-political identity crisis" after his association with Obi.

Okonkwo's remarks came in response to Baba-Ahmed's assertion that none of the leading candidates for the 2027 election, including Obi, possess the ability to enhance Nigeria's situation. He noted that the high expectations from the 2023 campaign led to disillusionment, which he attributed to Obi's "incompetence and incapacity" to manage the Labour Party effectively.

Okonkwo emphasized that many joined Obi's movement with the intent to contribute rather than gain, and the collapse of the LP's political structure has left many with political trauma.
