El-Rufai's Bail Ruling Adjourned to April 21, 2026

The bail ruling for former governor El-Rufai has been adjourned to April 21, 2026, after the trial judge, Dariyu Khobo, stated he was unable to prepare the ruling in time. El-Rufai is facing nine counts of amended charges that include allegations of fraud and abuse of office.

The proceedings took place at the Federal High Court, where El-Rufai arrived at 9 PM in a white Hilux vehicle. His counsel, Ubong Akpan, addressed journalists following the brief proceedings, which lasted less than 30 minutes.

The adjournment was announced on a Tuesday, with expectations surrounding the case as the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) is set to decide on additional charges related to customs and quarantine issues.
