Age Restrictions Lifted for Spires 5-Aside Tournament

The Spires 5-Aside Naija Street Soccer Tournament has officially announced the removal of age restrictions for its 2026 edition, allowing players of all ages to participate. This decision was communicated during a media briefing in Lagos midweek, emphasizing the need for equal opportunities for teams to compete for the trophy.

The tournament is set to take place in April across five divisions in Lagos State, as outlined in the organization's roadmap for the new season. Dr.

Bankol Alibai remarked on the importance of building on the successes of previous editions and improving the tournament's standards. Additionally, the initiative aims to introduce technological training for players, including skills in artificial intelligence, machine learning, coding, and graphic design.

The tournament is affiliated with the Lagos State Football Association and is registered via the official website www.spires5asid.ng. The reigning champions, White Tiger, pocketed N5 million in the 2025 edition of the tournament.
