AGN Lifts Suspension on Actress Halima Abubakar After Disciplinary Action

The Actor Guild of Nigeria (AGN) has officially lifted the suspension imposed on Nollywood actress Halima Abubakar, which was initiated in October 2024 due to allegations of defamation against a fellow actor. After a two-year investigation, a disciplinary panel found Abubakar culpable but allowed her to participate in guild-related activities and film production.

The announcement to lift the suspension was made by the outgoing AGN president, Emeka Rolla, during the inauguration of the new National Executive Council in Abuja. Rolla, whose final tenure ends in December 2025, handed over the presidency to Yakubu.

Additionally, the suspension of four members from the Enugu State chapter of the guild was also lifted. Chuk Chyke, the chairman of the organizing committee, commended Rolla for his leadership during turbulent times and urged the new NEC to uphold transparency, unity, and professionalism.
