AHF Launches HIV and TB Reporting Project for Journalists

The AIDS Healthcare Foundation Nigeria has initiated the HIV and TB Media Reporting Project: Amplify the Response, aimed at enhancing ethical and solutions-focused reporting on HIV and tuberculosis. Announced on Monday in Lokoja by Senior Advocacy and Marketing Manager Steve Aborisade, the project will run from September to October 2026.

It invites journalists from Abuja, Akwa Ibom, Anambra, Benue, Cross River, Kogi, and Nasarawa states to apply by August 31, 2026. The initiative seeks to produce human-centred stories that promote testing, treatment uptake, and public accountability.

Seven journalists will be selected to develop and publish two in-depth stories each, focusing on stigma reduction and ethical representation. Selection criteria include story pitch strength, work samples, journalism experience, gender diversity, and editor support.

Shortlisted journalists will be notified by September 14, 2026. AHF Nigeria provides free HIV testing, treatment, care, and tuberculosis services across its operational states, addressing ongoing challenges in stigma, misinformation, and funding gaps.
