Umo Eno Urges Support for Ibom Deep Seaport Project

During a monthly prayer service held at the Government House in Uyo on Saturday, Akwa Ibom State Governor Umo Eno appealed to the elders and youths of the Oron area to support the Ibom Deep Seaport project. Eno highlighted the project's origin at Ibaka in the Mbo Local Government Area, which has faced controversy regarding its rebranding.

He urged residents not to let disputes over location hinder investor interest, emphasizing the importance of seizing the moment for development. Eno drew comparisons to the Victor Attah International Airport in Uyo, noting that the local government area contributed land for the project without raising objections.

He expressed optimism about the state's development trajectory, stating that the deep seaport project would enhance tourism, create jobs, and drive economic growth upon completion. Eno also mentioned that the state would unveil major projects on Tuesday, June 23, 2026, including the Ibom Medical Village and a 350-bed international medical center.
