Akwa Ibom, Rivers CPs Collaborate Against Cross-Border Crime

On Wednesday, a meeting was held in Uyo, Akwa Ibom State, between CP Baba Moh Azar of the Akwa Ibom State Police Command and CP Olugbenga Adepoju of the Rivers State Police Command. The purpose of the meeting was to strengthen inter-state security cooperation to combat cross-border crimes, including piracy, kidnapping, and cultism.

A statement issued by DSP Timfon John from the Akwa Ibom State Command highlighted the commitment of the Nigeria Police Force to enhance collaboration between commands. The discussions focused on improving real-time intelligence sharing, coordinating operations, and developing strategies to address emerging threats along shared borders.

Both commissioners recognized the need for joint operations, coordinated patrols, and intelligence-driven raids to prevent crime. They agreed to institutionalize regular strategic engagements and to ensure continuous review of security architecture.

The meeting aimed to enhance public safety and ensure a prompt response to criminal incidents, reinforcing the commitment of the Nigeria Police Force to dismantle criminal networks operating across state boundaries.
