Air Tanzania Gets FCOP Approval for New Lagos-Dar Es Salaam Flight Route

Air Tanzania Company Limited (ATCL) has received approval for a Foreign Carrier Operation Permit (FCOP) from the Federal Government, allowing the airline to begin operating direct flights between Lagos, Nigeria, and Dar es Salaam, Tanzania. The FCOP was granted at a presentation ceremony held at the Ministry of Aviation and Aerospace Development headquarters in Abuja.

The Permanent Secretary, Ibrahim Abubakar Kana, highlighted the strategic importance of this move in enhancing aviation collaboration, safety, and operational efficiency. The FCOP will standardize processes and ensure smooth interactions in line with global best practices.

A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the two countries is set to be signed soon. The Tanzanian High Commissioner praised Nigeria as a gateway to prosperity and emphasized the importance of improving regional connectivity through direct flight routes.
