Air Tanzania receives FG’s approval for direct flights to Nigeria

The Federal Government of Nigeria has granted Air Tanzania Company Limited (ATCL) a Foreign Carrier Operation Permit (FCOP) to initiate direct flights between Tanzania and Nigeria. The permit was presented at the Ministry of Aviation Aerospace Development headquarters in Abuja, with the aim of enhancing operational efficiency and safety while fostering collaboration between the two nations' aviation sectors.

The FCOP will facilitate standardized procedures and promote smooth interactions among aviation stakeholders in both countries. The Nigerian government expressed confidence that this initiative will strengthen aviation cooperation and yield positive outcomes.

The Tanzanian High Commissioner to Nigeria praised the cooperation between the two countries and highlighted the importance of direct flight links in enhancing regional connectivity and promoting prosperity. ATCL is now prepared to operate scheduled flights between Dar es Salaam and Lagos, having successfully passed regulatory inspections and obtained necessary permits.
