NAF Delegation Assesses C-130H Maintenance in Portugal

Air Marshal Sundai Kelvin Anek, the Chief of Air Staff, directed a high-level Nigerian Air Force (NAF) delegation to Portugal to assess the ongoing depot maintenance (PDM) of the C-130H aircraft, specifically NAF 913. The delegation, led by Air Vice Marshal Olufemi Samson Ogunsina and accompanied by Air Commodore Eric Kpokpogri, visited OGMA Indústria Aeronáutica de Portugal to evaluate the progress of the maintenance program.

The visit included extensive inspections and strategic discussions with OGMA management to optimize timelines and sustain momentum for the aircraft's return to service. The NAF emphasized its commitment to maintaining the highest standards of safety and operational readiness, despite unforeseen transit challenges.

The delegation's efforts aimed to reassure the public regarding the aircraft's status and to explore broader areas of cooperation with OGMA for long-term support of the C-130H fleet, including technical training and logistics support. The NAF remains dedicated to preserving its critical airlift capabilities to support national security objectives.
