Airtel Nigeria Launches N50M Scholarship for Students

Airtel Nigeria, in collaboration with the Airtel Africa Foundation, has initiated a scholarship program worth N50 million to support 100 Nigerian students enrolled in technology-related courses at public universities. This program is part of the Airtel Africa Tech Fellowship initiative, which aims to enhance digital skills and access to education in Nigeria.

Each beneficiary will receive an average of N500,000 to cover tuition, accommodation, and essential learning tools, including laptops. The selection process for the beneficiaries is independent and accredited by public universities across Nigeria, including notable institutions such as the University of Lagos and Ahmadu Bello University.

Dr. Segun Ogunsanya, Chairman of the Airtel Africa Foundation, emphasized the program's goal to build a pipeline of skilled innovators contributing to Africa's digital economy.

Dinesh Balsingh, Chief Executive Officer of Airtel Nigeria, reiterated the company's commitment to empowering youth and promoting digital inclusion through this initiative, which will continue throughout the students' four to five-year academic programs.
