Almajiri-To-Tech Initiative Transforms Lives in Abuja

In Abuja, an initiative led by Tim Akana successfully trained twenty-one former Almajiri and street children in a six-month program focused on practical skills in technology. The program, held at Peniel Apartment, included intensive training in assembling computers and drones, repairing electronic devices, and entrepreneurship mentorship.

Many participants had never used a computer or communicated in English prior to this program. Unlike traditional educational programs that often conclude with theoretical knowledge, this initiative provided graduates with professional work tools and startup support, enabling them to become income earners immediately.

A business directory was also launched to connect the graduates with households and businesses, facilitating their integration into the local economy.
