Almajiri-to-Tech Foundation Empowers 21 Youths with ICT
The Almajiri-to-Tech Foundation and New Horizons have invested N100 million ($75,000) to empower 21 Almajiris through ICT and skills acquisition training. Chief Tim Akano II, the founder of the Almajiri-to-Tech Foundation and CEO of New Horizons, stated that merely training youth without establishing them as micro business owners often leads them back to street life.
To combat this, the foundation has secured an office space in Wuse 2, Abuja, for the graduates, covering the rent for one year. The top three students will receive essential business and technical tools for their operations within the Almajiri Republic Workshop.
Additionally, a Yellow Page will be created on the foundation's website to help the public connect with these new entrepreneurs. A dedicated telephone landline will also be introduced for the workshop.
Furthermore, the three best graduates will receive cash prizes to support their logistics as they embark on their micro business journeys.
