New Initiative Engages 36,000 Youths in Agriculture

On Monday, a new program was launched in Abuja by tractrac and mechanis servic limit to engage 36,000 youths in agricultural mechanization. The initiative, led by Chief Executive Officer Godson Ohuruogu, aims to address the shortage of technical skills and low youth participation in agriculture.

The program is designed for young Nigerians aged 18 to 35, offering practical skills, mentorship opportunities, and entrepreneurship training in mechanization. The pilot phase of the program seeks to engage 1,000 youths across 36 states.

The initiative is part of a broader effort to empower young people, build sustainable livelihoods, and contribute to transforming the nation's food security. So far, the company has reached 500,000 farmers and supported 6,000 mechanization services, deploying 800 tractors across various states through its digital platform, tractrac plus, which connects farmers directly to services.
