Lamido Claims APC Members Are PDP Except Tinubu

Sule Lamido, the former governor of Jigawa State, asserted that all members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) are effectively members of the People's Democratic Party (PDP) except for President Bola Tinubu. This claim was made during the PDP's 2026 national convention held in Abuja.

Lamido highlighted the deep-rooted legacy of the APC as an opposition party and called for unity among PDP members, urging them to set aside personal egos for the sake of Nigeria's democracy. He emphasized that the PDP remains a credible alternative for the country.

Additionally, Lamido has challenged the outcome of the national convention in the Federal High Court in Abuja, arguing that he should be allowed to express his fundamental rights to contest for the party's national chairmanship. In a related interview, Lamido mentioned that he submitted his form at the Wadata House rather than the party's annex office.
