Alleged Coup Plot: Former Security Aide to Timipre Sylva Under Scrutiny for Role in Destabilization

Colonel Ma’aji, a former security aide to Timipre Sylva, is being investigated for his alleged role in a coup plot. Ma’aji, who served as a security advisor during Sylva's 2015 Bayelsa governorship campaign, is suspected of coordinating a network to undermine the government.

Despite being in military custody, Ma’aji has refused to cooperate with investigators. The investigation has revealed financial records and documents at Ma’aji's residence in Abuja.

Sylva's media aide, Julius Bokoru, has denied any wrongdoing on Sylva's part, attributing the allegations to political motives.
