Court Approves Ozekhome's Medical Trip to UK

On Thursday, February 27, an Abuja High Court granted Mike Ozekhome permission to travel to the United Kingdom for medical reasons for six weeks, from July 9 to August 20. Justice Chizoba Oji ordered the return of Ozekhome's international passport, which had been withheld by the prosecution as part of bail conditions.

The prosecution was instructed to present the passport to the court, and they confirmed that they had no objection to the request for temporary release. Ozekhome is currently facing charges alongside co-defendant Ponfa Useni, with 12 counts of forgery and impersonation related to property ownership disputes.

The charges allege that in 2020, Ozekhome assisted Useni in creating a fake Nigerian international passport and an irrevocable power of attorney to claim property. The trial has been adjourned until September 28.
