Okechukwu Urges Atiku to Honor Southern Presidential Term

Osita Okechukwu, a member of the All Progressives Congress (APC), called on Atiku Abubakar of the People's Democratic Party (PDP) to allow the southern region to complete its presidential term. This statement was made in response to the Southern Political Progress Amalgam Forum's appeal for Atiku to reconsider his choice of vice-presidential running mate for the 2027 general elections.

Okechukwu emphasized the need for a stronger support group from the south and dismissed the pressure from the forum to abandon the rotational rule, which he believes could destabilize the PDP. He urged Atiku to remember the importance of zoning and to act as a leader by fostering unity and peace in Nigeria rather than blaming President Bola Tinubu.

Okechukwu recalled that Atiku once supported the zoning principle during Goodluck Jonathan's presidency and should continue to uphold it for the benefit of the nation.
