Nigeria's Ambassador Ufochukwu Begins Mission in Israel

On August 3, 2026, Nigeria’s Ambassador to the State of Israel, Her Excellency Nkechi Linda Ufochukwu, officially commenced her diplomatic mission by presenting her Letters of Credence to President Isaac Herzog at the Presidential Residence in Jerusalem. Following the ceremony, Ambassador Ufochukwu conveyed the goodwill of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the Nigerian populace to the Israeli government and people.

She expressed her commitment to strengthening the longstanding friendship between Nigeria and Israel, stating her intention to deepen ties in her role as Ambassador. Key areas of focus during her tenure will include trade and investment, agriculture and food security, technology and innovation, defense and security cooperation, healthcare, and cultural exchanges.

President Herzog welcomed the Nigerian envoy and expressed Israel’s readiness to collaborate with Nigeria on shared interests, particularly in innovation and counter-terrorism. Ambassador Ufochukwu’s appointment is seen as a strategic move to enhance Nigeria-Israel relations and explore new opportunities for collaboration in economic sectors.
