Amotekun Arrests Family for Kidnapping in Ondo State

The Amotekun Corps arrested 56-year-old Iliasu and his three sons, Usman (33), Wahab (27), and Yakubu (18), for their alleged involvement in a kidnapping operation in the northern part of Ondo State. The arrests followed a four-day operation initiated after the victim's family sought help from Amotekun after paying a ransom without informing security agencies.

Despite receiving the ransom, the kidnappers threatened the family and refused to release the victim. Amotekun's Chief, Adetunji Adeley, disclosed that the operation was based on intelligence received, leading to the discovery of the kidnappers' hideout in a remote forest settlement.

The victim was found severely tortured and was immediately taken to a nearby hospital for medical attention. Amotekun recovered 75% of the ransom paid by the victim's family.

Adeley emphasized that the corps does not encourage ransom payments and aims to ensure the safety of residents in Ondo State.
