Father and Sons Arrested for Kidnapping in Ondo State

In Ondo State, a 56-year-old man named Iliasu and his three sons, Usman (33), Wahab (27), and Yakubu (18), were arrested by the Amotekun Corps for their alleged involvement in kidnapping activities. The arrests occurred in the Akoko South West Local Government Area after the victim's family reported the case to the Amotekun Corps, following a ransom demand that was not fulfilled.

The family had initially paid a portion of the ransom but did not inform the authorities, leading to the suspects' capture. During the rescue operation, the suspects reportedly attacked the victim, inflicting injuries with knives and cutlasses, prompting the victim's immediate hospitalization.

The Amotekun Corps recovered 75% of the ransom paid and discovered drugs and alcohol at the scene. Additionally, several other individuals were arrested for various crimes, including armed banditry, robbery, cultism, and theft, as part of a broader crackdown on criminal activities in the state.
