Teen Arrested for Stabbing Neighbor to Death in Akamkpa

A tragic incident occurred in Akamkpa Local Government Area, where a 16-year-old boy was arrested for allegedly stabbing his 20-year-old neighbor, Uwem Daniel Akpan, during a dispute. The altercation took place around 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday at Peters Street, Awi, where both individuals resided in the same compound.

Following the attack, Akpan was rushed to the Navy Reference Hospital in Calabar but was declared dead on arrival by medical staff. The police public relations officer, ASP Sunday Eitokpah, confirmed the incident and stated that the victim's remains have been handed over to his family.

Eitokpah also mentioned that the suspect is cooperating with detectives, and the case is being prepared for further investigation at the State Criminal Investigation Department in Calabar. The police command urged residents to refrain from any form of reprisal as the investigation continues.
