Anambra APC Expels 30 Members Over Court Actions

The Anambra State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) expelled 30 members for taking legal action against the party. This decision was announced by Valentin Iyiegbu during a meeting of the state executive committee in Awka.

The expulsion aligns with Article 21, subsection 5 of the party's constitution, which mandates such action when members fail to exhaust internal mechanisms for resolving disputes before approaching the courts. The expelled members were involved in litigation concerning the party's House of Representatives ticket.

Iyiegbu noted that the expulsions would impact the members' eligibility to participate in the party's primary elections. The party also appointed a five-member primary election committee, led by Izuchukwu Okek, to oversee the upcoming electoral processes, which include 11 House of Representatives seats and three Senate seats in the state.
