Anambra Couple Remanded for Alleged Child Abuse Case

Chukwudi Chukwuyer, aged 40, and Chisom Chukwuyer, aged 30, have been remanded by the Anambra State Police Command following allegations of child abuse involving their 10-year-old ward, Chiziterem. The case gained significant attention after a viral video surfaced on social media, showing the boy with severe injuries allegedly inflicted by his guardians.

The incident occurred in Awada, Idemili North Local Government Area of Anambra State. Following preliminary investigations, the suspects were arraigned in court.

The Anambra State Police Command, represented by spokesman Tochukwu Ikenga, commended local residents for their vigilance and cooperation, which led to the child's rescue and subsequent medical treatment. The first lady of Anambra State, Nony Soludo, expressed relief over the boy's steady recovery during her visit to the hospital, praising the medical team for their dedication and the community's support.
