Anambra Couple Remanded for Allegedly Abusing Son

Chukwudi Chukwuyer, aged 40, and Chisom Chukwuyer, aged 30, have been remanded in prison by the Anambra State Police Command for allegedly abusing their 10-year-old son, Chiziterem. The abuse came to light after a viral video surfaced on social media, showing the child with severe injuries, which prompted public outcry and intervention from the state government.

The Anambra State Police Command, represented by spokesman Tochukwu Ikenga, confirmed that the couple was arraigned in court following preliminary investigations. The police commended local residents and vigilantes for their timely information that led to the rescue of the child, who is currently receiving medical treatment.

Anambra State First Lady Nony Soludo expressed satisfaction with the child's steady recovery and praised the medical team for their dedication. She visited the child in the hospital and reassured the public about his improving condition.
