Anambra Extends Tax Return Deadline to April 30, 2026

The Anambra State Internal Revenue Service has announced an extension of the deadline for filing individual annual tax returns from the original date of March 31, 2026, to April 30, 2026. This decision was communicated in a press statement signed by the Executive Chairman, Air Ikeazor Okonkwo, on Tuesday.

The extension creates a new filing window from April 1 to April 30, 2026, allowing taxpayers additional time to accurately complete and submit their returns in line with the provisions of the Nigeria Tax Administration Act. Okonkwo urged individuals to take advantage of this grace period to ensure full compliance and avoid potential penalties associated with late or incorrect filings.

Taxpayers are reminded to declare their sources of income and provide necessary supporting documents for any relief claims. Failure to file within the extended deadline will attract penalties and enforcement actions according to applicable tax laws.

The deadline will not be further extended.
