Anambra LG Chairman Alleges Lawmakers Paid to Join APC in Governorship Campaign

Anambra LG Chairman, Captain Barr Casmir Nwafor, alleges that four Anambra State House Assembly members defected to APC after being financially induced. The lawmakers, Hon Ike Augustine Onyekachukwu, Hon Obalim Patrick Udoba, Hon Paul Obu, and Hon Emma Oforka, reportedly joined APC for monetary promises tied to the governorship campaign.

Nwafor claims the defectors were promised one billion naira support from APC governor and FCT Minister. Despite the defection, the lawmakers pledged to mobilize supporters for the upcoming governorship election on November 8.

The move highlights alleged financial inducements in Nigerian politics.
