Anambra Police Arrest Six in Child Trafficking Bust

On June 29, 2026, the Anambra State Police Command arrested six suspects allegedly involved in a child trafficking ring in Nnewi. The operation was part of ongoing efforts to combat child labor and human trafficking in the state, conducted in collaboration with the Anambra State Ministry of Women Affairs and Social Welfare.

A total of 29 children and young persons were rescued during the operation. The arrested suspects include Anyingo Glori Nwafor, Godwin Chukwudi Ofok, Chineny Anyingo, and Okwudili Ifeoma Mose.

The police emphasized their commitment to protecting vulnerable children from abuse and exploitation, stating that anyone found culpable will be investigated and prosecuted according to the law. The police also urged parents and guardians to refrain from engaging children in hazardous labor and encouraged the public to report cases of child abuse and trafficking to the nearest police station.
