Angola Appoints Aliou Cissé as New National Team Coach

The Angolan Football Federation announced the appointment of Aliou Cissé as the new head coach of the national football team, signaling a fresh start in the team's rebuilding efforts. Cissé, who previously led the Senegal national football team to its first Africa Cup of Nations title in 2021 and guided them to the finals in 2019, has signed a four-year contract.

His experience is expected to bring leadership and transformation to Angola's football fortunes, particularly following the country's recent struggles in international competitions. Angola's best performances in the Africa Cup of Nations occurred in 2006, 2008, and 2010, when they reached the quarter-finals, and they also made an appearance in the 2006 FIFA World Cup.

Currently ranked 89th globally, Angola hopes Cissé's arrival will restore competitiveness and elevate the team's prominence in African football.
