ANJET 2026 Conference to Address Immigration and Tourism

The Association of Nigerian Journalists and Writers of Tourism (ANJET) has announced that its 2026 annual conference will focus on the impact of Nigeria’s immigration reforms on tourism. Scheduled for October at Radisson Blu, Ikeja, Lagos, the conference will explore the theme, “Nigerian Tourism Industry and the Nigerian Immigration Service Reforms.” ANJET aims to examine how these reforms have influenced international visitors and tourism businesses.

The discussions will address the necessity of the reforms, their effectiveness in easing visa access, and the overall experience of travelers at Nigeria’s entry points, including airports, land borders, and seaports. The association will also evaluate the new electronic visa system and other changes introduced by the Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS).

ANJET noted that prior to the reforms, visitors faced challenges in obtaining visas and navigating entry procedures, which could deter potential tourists and impact tourism operations.
