Anosike Promises 60% Medical Bill Coverage for Women

Dr. Kelechi Anosike, the governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) for Abia State, announced plans to support women by covering 60% of their medical bills and establishing cooperative loans if elected in February 2027. Speaking at the inaugural August Summit of the Abia Assurance Movement, Women Wing, in Umuahia, Anosike emphasized the importance of prioritizing women's welfare, stating that strong women are essential for family care.

He proposed a health insurance scheme for women and outlined a cooperative financing model to empower women through group loans. Anosike also committed to providing government grants, skills acquisition training, and start-up kits to help women become producers rather than dependents.

He pledged to enhance food production for local consumption and export, expressing confidence in women's intelligence and capabilities. Additionally, he donated N2.5 million to support women at the summit.

Elder Chima Azik Iwu and Mrs. Rhoda Emeka also spoke, condemning political deceit towards women.
