Apapa Customs Achieves N28.1 Billion Revenue Record

On August 18, 2026, the Nigeria Customs Service (NCS), Apapa Area Command, set a new record by generating N28.1 billion in revenue within a single day, totaling N28,102,000,914.61. This achievement was announced by Chief Superintendent of Customs Isah Sulaiman and surpassed the previous record of N20.1 billion established in September 2025.

Comptroller Emmanuel Oshoba, the Customs Area Controller, emphasized that this revenue milestone contributes significantly to national development and is a result of ongoing modernization, automation, and reforms within the Customs Service. The record follows a remarkable revenue generation of N323 billion in July 2026.

The Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA) aims for N1.489 trillion in internally generated revenue for the 2026 fiscal year. Additionally, the National Single Window initiative seeks to reduce cargo dwell time from 21 days to under seven days by 2026.

The Apapa Port remains a key trade gateway, while the Lekki Deep Sea Port, operational since April 2023, is emerging as a significant secondary hub.
