APC Chieftain Denies Party's Involvement in Violence

Olatunbosun Oyintiloye, a chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC), publicly distanced the party from the recent wave of pre-election violence in Osun State. He attributed the unrest to desperate politicians seeking to disrupt the political landscape ahead of the upcoming governorship election.

Oyintiloye condemned the violence, stating that neither the APC nor its governorship candidate, Bola Oyebamiji, is connected to the individuals or groups allegedly using the party's name to perpetrate violence. He called for peace and emphasized that the APC does not need to engage in violence to secure electoral victory.

Oyintiloye insisted that the party is committed to democratic processes and the rule of law, urging anyone involved in sponsoring violence under the guise of the APC to desist. He reiterated that no political ambition is worth the loss of human life and called on party members, political actors, security agencies, and the general public to remain calm and law-abiding while allowing relevant authorities to investigate the incidents and bring perpetrators to justice.
