APC, PDP Challenge Adeleke's Re-election in Tribunal

The Osun State Governorship Election Petition Tribunal has received two petitions from the All Progressives Congress (APC) and the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) contesting the re-election of Governor Ademola Adeleke. Both petitions, dated September 5, 2026, were posted on the tribunal secretariat's notice board in Osogbo, marking the official start of the legal process regarding the August 15 governorship election results.

Tribunal Secretary Pefe Belemore confirmed the filing of these petitions. The APC's petition, identified by suit number EPT/OS/GOV/01/2026, was submitted by its candidate, Asiwaju Munirudeen Bola Oyebamiji, against Adeleke, the Accord Party, and the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

The PDP's petition, EPT/OS/GOV/02/2026, was filed by Adebayo Olugbenga Adedamola against Adeleke, INEC, and the Accord Party. The legal proceedings will involve serving documents to the involved parties and conducting hearings before the tribunal.
