APC Denies PDP's PVC Collection Allegations in Gombe

The Gombe State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has dismissed allegations made by the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) that the APC-led administration of Governor Inuwa Yahaya is unlawfully collecting Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs), bank account details, and biometric information from citizens under the guise of an empowerment program. In a statement issued on Thursday by the Gombe State Publicity Secretary, Murtala-Usman Tale, the APC described the allegations as “baseless, unfounded and politically motivated.” The party emphasized that the PVC is issued and administered by the Independent National Electoral Commission, which is responsible for voter registration and elections in Nigeria.

The APC urged the PDP to provide evidence of any unlawful collection of personal information to the appropriate authorities instead of making unsubstantiated claims. The ruling party accused the PDP of engaging in political rhetoric rather than offering constructive alternatives and reaffirmed its commitment to people-oriented governance and social welfare initiatives.
