APC Stakeholders Defect to Accord Party Ahead of 2027

Stakeholders from the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kano, Jigawa, and Katsina states have defected to the Accord Party, declaring their support for presidential aspirant Dr. Gbenga Olawepo Hashim in anticipation of the 2027 general elections. This declaration was made during mobilization meetings across the three states, where political leaders, grassroots mobilizers, women leaders, and youth stakeholders pledged their commitment to Hashim's candidacy.

The defections stem from widespread dissatisfaction with the current APC administration under President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, particularly regarding economic hardships and insecurity. Former APC stakeholders, including Mallam Goje Bashir and Hajia Rabi Fagg, expressed their disillusionment with the current government and emphasized the need for new leadership capable of addressing Nigeria's challenges.

Mobilization efforts led by Hon. Abdulrashe Ali in Jigawa and Muhammad Abdullahi in Katsina highlighted Hashim's growing appeal among voters seeking an alternative political platform. The movement aims to strengthen grassroots support for Hashim ahead of the upcoming elections.
