APC Defections to Accord Reflect Adeleke's Popularity

The Imole Campaign Council (TICC) has asserted that the increasing defection of members from the All Progressives Congress (APC) to the Accord Party in Osun State reflects the growing popularity of Governor Ademola Adeleke ahead of the August 15 governorship election. In a statement released on Thursday by spokesperson Pelumi Olajengbe, the council emphasized that this trend signifies the acceptance of Adeleke's bid for a second term.

The council argued that the movement of APC members to the Accord Party indicates widespread support for the governor, stating, “The reality in Osun today is that Governor Ademola Adeleke is the choice of the people.” The statement criticized the APC for allegedly promoting violence and intimidation instead of focusing on governance. It attributed Adeleke's increasing support to his administration's performance and urged the APC to reflect on its governance record.

The council expressed confidence in Adeleke's re-election prospects and encouraged eligible voters to participate peacefully in the upcoming election.
