APC Wins All 18 LGAs in Edo State Local Elections

The All Progressives Congress (APC) secured victory in all 18 local government areas during the Edo State local government elections held on July 11, 2026. Governor Mondai Okpebholo, who cast his vote at Udomi Primary School in Esan Central Local Government Area, expressed satisfaction with the peaceful conduct of the elections.

He commended the impressive voter turnout, which he described as a reflection of the people's commitment to grassroots democracy. The Edo State Independent Electoral Commission (EDSIEC) oversaw the elections, which were monitored by accredited observers and security agencies.

Reports indicated no major security breaches during the voting process. Okpebholo stated that the elections were conducted smoothly, and the results confirmed the APC's consolidation of control over grassroots governance in Edo State.
