APC Dominates By-Elections, PDP Wins Rivers South East Seat

In the recent by-elections held across Nigeria, the All Progressives Congress (APC) emerged as the dominant party, winning five of the six contested seats. The elections were conducted by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) on a Saturday.

The APC's Ikej Asogwa won the Enugu North Senate seat with 162,360 votes, defeating the PDP's Nestor Ezem, who garnered 9,299 votes. In Kebbi State, APC's Rabiu Garba Aiki claimed the Zuru State Constituency seat with 4,887 votes, while Labour Party's Aliyu Galadima Muhammad received only 168 votes.

In Kano State, APC's Rabiu Shuaibu won the Dawaki Kudu Warawa Federal Constituency with 35,356 votes against APM's Lawal Garba Haruna, who received 268 votes. APC's Dayo Faduyile also won the Ondo South Senate seat with 68,474 votes.

The PDP managed to secure the Rivers South East Senate seat, with Olaka Nwogu winning 47,961 votes against APC's Osar Erewari, who received 1,647 votes. These elections were necessitated by the deaths of previous lawmakers, including Senator Jimoh Ibrahim.
